Institutional Data 'Music Magazine'

I chose to do an overview of NME magazine and find out its Institutional Data. Key facts I found were that it is £2.20 a week, its circulation is 56,284 and readership is 411,000. NME has been going since 1952. Its target audience is mostly male at 73% with women at a small percentage of 27%. NME expects its average reader age to be 25. The social classes NME expects its readers to fall in are ABC1, upper middle class, middle class and lower middle class. The target market on a whole is men aged 17-30. NME states that its readers are "entertainment enthusiasts" with around 80% feeling that music is an important part of their lives. NME also says its readers are "techno savvy" and "love festivals", with 77% of its readers have attended at least one concert or festival in 2007 and 72% have some form of internet connection at home. NME says that 34% of its readers are working full time, 18% are working part time and 26% are full time students. NME also states that a large amount of money is spent by readers at the festivals they attend (£402, average), and on music outside of festivals (£368, average).
