Analysis of Cover Page (Q) #2

For my second analysis I chose to use the front cover of Q.
I found this to be considerably higher in price at £3.99, however it is a monthly magazine, so in the long run, cheaper than NME.
In this cover last names of the artists are used, this could imply a slighlty more formal magazine or that the artists Q use are, in the grand scheme of things, more famous than some of the artists NME uses. This could mean that Q use a more mainstream music approach. It could also imply Q assumes that their readers slightly know less about the artists featured and therefore have to be more informative of their contents.
The artists used are extremely popular and well known, featured as "The 10 most exciting people in music now", this could imply a slightly younger audience as they would probably be more likely to be in the know about these types of artists. I would say around 16-late 30's very early 40's.
I would expect Q to be targeting the male percentage of the population, the colours used are quite masculine (black and red). Also the models used and how they are posed implys a male audience, the female model featured (Lady Gaga) is wearing quite revealing clothing, and is using quite a seductive gaze. The males are stood in quite dominating poses, again, hinting at masculinity.
